Client: Allo Fibre
Title: Settle for More
Creative Agency: Decision Counsel
Production Company: Max Curious Productions
The three-commercial Settle for More campaign demonstrated how strategically conceived, low-budget creative could remain highly effective. Produced primarily with stock footage, animation, voice overs, and minimal production resources, the spots relied on sharp editorial pacing, clever conceptual framing, and concise messaging to deliver polished, engaging content.
Collectively, the commercials serve as an example of how thoughtful creative execution can overcome budgetary and logistical challenges while still producing memorable and effective advertising.
Spot No. 1 - Allo Fibre Settle for More - Best
Striking the right balance of quirky, colorful, fast-paced, and funny, the selected b-roll is the key to this spot's success. The upbeat voice over and music also help propel the spot forward towards the big finale - a synchronized cat dance. We tested hundreds of stock clips to find the right balance of zany and energetic to maximize impact.
Finding the right feeling, pace, and emotional tone emerged through experimentation, refinement, and a bit of trial and error. We relied on our experienced editor who used his instincts developed over years of storytelling, testing different cuts, music choices, and rhythms until everything clicked into place. When you find the right formula and it all comes together, a commercial stops feeling like a collection of shots and starts feeling like a compelling story that connects with its audience.
Spot No. 2 - Allo Fibre Settle for More - Office
This spot relies on colorful, animated business charts and graphs layered over b-roll of people working from home. By acknowledging the work-from-home trend, this spot features a story that is relevant, relatable, and authentic to today's hybrid/work from home audience. The spot depicts professionals collaborating from home offices, balancing work and family life, and using technology to stay connected with colleagues and customers.
The goal of the production team was to deliver a spot that is fast-paced with eye-catching visuals that grab the audience's attention and quickly gets to Allo's offering... faster, reliable internet for the people working from home.
Spot No. 3 - Allo Fibre Settle for More - Questions
The "Settle for More Questions" spot leans heavily on formulas for its success.
One of the most enduring formulas in advertising is the problem-and-solution approach, where a relatable challenge is introduced before the product or service is presented as the solution. The problem: The competition's wifi service doesn't always work, the customer service is lacking and the service is outdated. The solution: Allo Fibre's fast and relaible wifi service. This simple storytelling structure quickly captures attention, creates an emotional connection, and clearly demonstrates the value being offered to the audience.
We also heavily focused on creating a spot that would appeal to the broadest range of people in the marketplace. When audiences see themselves reflected authentically on screen, it creates a stronger sense of familiarity, trust, and engagement with the message. Casting ethnically diverse people featured in the spot heavily influenced how we reviewed and made stock footage selections.
Like the other two spots, relying on the right combination of curated stock footage, voiceover narration and on-screen graphics kept expenses low and delivered a powerful advertising message without the expense of a large-scale production. Maximizing marketing budget while producing professional, polished content was our production team's goal and what we were able to deliver to the Creative Agency and the Client.
